Patatap (which we first saw way back in issue 14) is a collaboration between Jono Brandel and the band Lullatone. To celebrate its 7th anniversary(!) the team have released an updated version with MIDI support. There's a companion video demoing integration with synths and Abelton.

Coded Illustrations

ZACH LIEBERMAN

I really enjoyed this article about the work and practice of a creative coder tasked with creating an illustration for the New York Times magazine.

Fractal Music Machine

An explanation and collection of resources and demos about the use of self-similarity and fractals in computer music. I heard about this via the wonderful Caesura Letter.

One day short of a full chain

MAN YUE MO

A detailed write up a browser security exploitation (now fixed) that used a bug in the Web Audio implementation on Android's Chrome browser. A reminder of why it can take a long time for proposed technology to appear in browser implementations. This stuff is hard!

Sounds of the Pub

COGS & MARVEL

Pick just the right mix of fireplace, traditional music and old man sounds to recreate the ambience of your favourite local.
